Solid perfume vs Eau de Parfum: what’s the difference?

One scent, two experiences. Comparing solid perfume and Eau de Parfum by texture, application, trail and the moments each suits best.

Solid perfume vs Eau de Parfum: what’s the difference?

All eight Puzzle fragrances exist both as Eau de Parfum and as solid perfume. What changes when you carry the same scent in two forms? In short, the fragrance keeps the same soul, but the way it reaches you is different.

Texture and composition

Eau de Parfum is the liquid form, where fragrance is held in an alcohol-based solution and applied with a spray. Puzzle Eau de Parfums come in 90 ml art bottles shaped like puzzle pieces. Solid perfume is an alcohol-free, creamy texture; at Puzzle it comes in 15 ml jars with a vegan formula.

Application

A few sprays of Eau de Parfum spread over a wide area and open brighter and more pronounced. Solid perfume is applied with a fingertip, exactly where and as much as you like, and it opens gradually with the warmth of the skin.

Trail and projection

Liquid perfume radiates further and is noticed as you enter a room. Solid perfume leaves a closer trail: you and those near you feel it most. That makes solid a lovely choice at work, in crowded places or whenever you want fragrance to feel more personal.

Which one for which moment?

  • To start the day and for special evenings: Eau de Parfum.
  • To refresh during the day: the solid jar in your bag.
  • When travelling: solid, free from liquid restrictions.
  • For an alcohol-free experience: solid.

Wearing both

Using both forms of the same fragrance is the most natural way to carry it all day. Spray your Eau de Parfum in the morning and refresh your wrists with the solid version in the afternoon. The scent deepens layer by layer while keeping its character.
